El alma del samurai

Katsu Kaishu, quien vivió en una de las épocas mas turbulentas de la historia del Japón, y que a la sazón comentó a un amigo.

"Me desagrada matar a la gente y por eso no he matado jamás a un solo hombre, incluso he puesto en libertad a quién debí cortarle la cabeza."

Este es un ejemplo del verdadero seguidor del Bushido, quien a pesar de ser puesto a prueba en diferentes ocasiones, tanto en la adversidad como en el triunfo, siempre definió que "la mejor victoria es la que se consigue sin derramamiento de sangre."

Lo cual demuestra que el verdadero ideal de un auténtico caballero samurai, era la paz.

Este apotegma fué asi mismo definido por el fundador del Aikido Morihei Ueshiba, quién aseveró que "el mejor guerrero es aquel que consigue la victoria sin derramamiento de sangre".

En ambos casos representan a dos auténticos guerreros, que supieron comprender el verdadero sentido de las artes marciales y su comunión con la naturaleza del alma del samurai.
